Microsoft’s going the Google way to offer its widely used and highly-priced Office Suite Online for free. The Redmond company offers free online office components that comprises Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote as a part of free online suite called Office Web Apps. That said, the online edition of the Microsoft Office is an substantial development for consumers in the current round of updates. Overtly, it projects Microsoft’s commitment to cloud computing - - promoting Samsung Cell Phones applications online instead of desktop programs. On a broader perspective it seems the software giant is all set to take on the rivals such as Google and Zoho offering online office suites. With a week’s time for the release of new version of traditional desktop Microsoft Office version - Office 2010, we decided on an extensive comparison with online version. Before you set out to purchase the desktop version, you need to see whether the online version of Office Suite has enough to do with.
In order to use the free Office Web Suite you need to visit the office.live.com. To work on the new online Office you will need a free account for Samsung Cell Phones the company’s broader Windows Live onilne service.
The Office Web Apps run smoothly on all major browsers - Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Chrome. As is expected, the online version of Office suite lacks some of the local desktop version of Office. Microsoft is trying to ensure that the profitability of its Desktop suite is not compromised. Then, why did Microsoft launch the online Office Web Apps? The software major is draws a line between the two versions — referring the Office Web Apps as a companion to desktop Office for “light” work.
Let’s take a look at the major pros and cons of using the Office Web Apps over Office 2010
Online version of Samsung Cell Phones the Office suite wears a simpler look and feel than its desktop counterpart. It includes the Ribbon feature.
The new Web Apps boasts of a 25 gigabytes of free online storage for the documents, via a companion Microsoft online storage system called SkyDrive. The Office Web Apps produce documents that use the same file formats as the desktop programs. The desktop program gets fully accurate when it is opened in desktop Office. This is clearly fidelity. In the tests the claim is held true, at least on my Windows PC.

So if bookmark php you’re wondering why it’s taking sooooooo long for any movement on health care reform or DADT it’s because the entire White House staff is obsessed with Scrabble on their iPad’s. Just kidding. Sort of.
According to the Washington Post everywhere you look in the White House these days you see an iPad. Specifically, almost  everyone in the West Wing office of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has an iPad or an iPad on order. I guess White House security clearance doesn’t get you an iPad any faster than anyone else when there are shortages.
“Emanuel just got his, as did senior adviser and bookmark php deputy press secretary Bill Burton. Both communications director and press wrangler Ben Finkenbinder have one on order. Economic adviser takes his to staff meetings.”
So of course, the Post wanted to know what apps everyone was using. I mean isn’t that the first thing you ask your friends when you’re talking about your iPads? “Summers has the Bloomberg app for financial information, says adviser Matt Vogel. Also Scrabble. And the first book he downloaded was a free copy of “The Federalist Papers.” Burton, who has been a bit of an iPad evangelist at the White House, has the app for Vanity Fair magazine, Scrabble, a news app and the entire last season of ABC’s “Lost.” Emanuel has “all the newspaper apps,” says a top aide, and has installed the iBooks app so he can read books on the device. Axelrod has only downloaded a couple of apps so far, his assistant, Eric Lesser, said. They include the Major League Baseball app and the National Public Radio one.
There’s no word on whether or not Mr. President himself has adopted an iPad, but we do know in the past his allegiance was to the Blackberry. Â But he’s got to be a bit jealous when he sees Joe Biden on his.
NEW YORK bookmark php — The health care information technology company Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions Inc. is buying rival Eclipsys Corp. for about $1.3 billion in stock, the companies said Wednesday.
Allscripts is a leader in providing physicians and their offices with ways to keep tabs on patient care records while Eclipsys provides similar services for hospitals and health systems. Those records include test results and medical histories.
The combined company’s client base will include over 180,000 U.S. physicians, 1,500 hospitals, and nearly 10,000 nursing homes, hospices and home care organizations, the companies said.
The combined company’s increased size and resources may also give its clients greater access to about $30 billion in federal funding for hospital and physician adoption of electronic health records as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the companies said. The incentives, which aim to shift the health care system bookmark php to more efficient portable electronic records from paper records, begin in 2011.
“For the first time, we have a company with the size, scale and reach to allow that to happen, said Allscripts Chairman and CEO Glen Tullman, citing the shift to electronic records. “Think of this as doing what the Internet did for computers.”
Adoption of electronic records by physicians is projected to grow from 12 percent to 90 percent by 2019, the companies said, citing a Congressional Budget Office’s March 2009 report. That same report said total spending on health care services would shrink because of the reduction in paperwork and inappropriate tests, along with lower administrative overhead. The report did not provide an estimate, but said there would likely be lower costs for private payers and lower health insurance bookmark php premiums in the private sector.
Under the deal, Eclipsys shareholders will receive 1.2 Allscripts shares for each Eclipsys share, a 19 percent premium over its closing price Tuesday, the companies said.
Shares of Allscripts, based in Chicago, fell $1.66, or 9 percent, to $16.76 in morning trading Wednesday while shares of Eclipsys, based in Atlanta, rose 53 cents, or 2.9 percent, to $19.04.
Allscripts’ Tullman will be CEO of the combined company while Eclipsys CEO Phil Pead will be chairman. bookmark php
The deal has been approved by both companies’ boards of directors and is subject to shareholder approval of both companies.
Separately, the British information services company Misys PLC will reduce its almost 55 percent stake in Allscripts to 10 percent through an underwritten secondary equity offering of its Allscripts shares and by selling shares to Allscripts.
Misys acquired a 54.5 percent stake in Allscripts for $330 million in 2008.
In a separate deal in the healthcare technology field, Cardinal Health Inc. said Wednesday it is buying Healthcare Solutions Holding LLC for $517 million, in a move to expand its tools and services for health care data and claims management.
UBS, Barclays Capital and J.P. Morgan acted as financial advisors to Allscripts in the Eclipsys deal.
Allscripts expects its buyout of Eclipsys to boost net income, excluding charges, in 2011. The company expects its fiscal year net income in 2010 to reach the high end of its 64 cents to 65 cents per share guidance, excluding charges, on revenue between $700 million and $705 million. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect net income of 65 cents per share on $702.3 million in revenue.
The fiscal year ends in May. After the buyout closes, Allscripts expects to report financial results on a calendar year basis.

Iskin solo skin white for iphone 3g Do you need unlimited internet on your iPad?
Use iPhone app to identify no-fee ATMs
Want to save money when you travel? Sure, you can look for bookmark php cheap airfares, budget hotels and discount car rentals. But here’s a simple change that can save you big bucks over the long haul: Stop paying ATM service fees.
After all, why should you pay a few dollars to withdraw money from a machine just because your bank doesn’t have a branch nearby?
Fortunately a handful of apps can help you locate ATMs that won’t charge you fees.
I tried two on my iPhone, and both were free. So it costs you nothing to save some dough on the road or even in your hometown.
The first app I tried is from Allpoint. It’s a network of about 37,000 ATM locations around the bookmark php world. A few thousand are in the United Kingdom and the rest are in the U.S.
The ATMs are usually in drug stores, retail outlets and the like. The network charges you zero to withdraw money — though your own bank might charge you something for using an out-of-network ATM.
The app is easy to use. You can search from your current location or by address. It shows nearby Allpoint locations on a map or in list form with distance noted. I used it awhile back to find an ATM bookmark php close to work. It turned out that machine was even closer than the bank I’d used occasionally at $3 a pop.
Allpoint’s app works seamlessly with the iPhone’s map function to give directions to whichever location you choose. The network also offers apps for BlackBerry and Android smart phones.
I also tried CO-OP Network’s app. It bills itself as the largest credit union-only ATM network in the country. For those with credit union accounts, the app serves much the same function as Allpoint.
It has fewer locations than the first app. And it was a bit slower on my iPhone. There were fewer locations as well. The credit union app offers a link to the location’s bookmark php website and shows it on a map or in list form. But it didn’t offer step-by-step directions like the Allpoint app.
But either one can save some serious money over time. Consider that a $3 surcharge to withdraw $20 is like paying a 15 percent fee to withdraw your money.

The things I do for this column. I'm writing this just days after the Canadian release of Apple's iPad tablet computer. And just for you, dear readers, I had to get one. I only did it for you. Really.... So I'm writing this based on only 36 hours of hands-on experience. Nevertheless, that's long enough for me to reach a few bookmark php conclusions.
First, you won't be making an iPad your only computer. You need access to a Mac or Windows computer just to get files onto it. You can't print from it. And even though you can buy a copy of Apple's Keynote presentation software (for a very affordable $10) and get a gadget to connect it to a standard projector, the iPad's Keynote won't project your presentation.....
Apple's Pages word processor for iPad can import and export bookmark php files in business-standard Microsoft Word .doc format, but loses some formatting support and lacks features you may count on in a word processor like word count, for instance.
Alan says he doesn't miss multitasking or Flash much, but does miss the ability to edit online through Google Documents, finds that the glossy screen starts showing fingerprints almost immediately, and thinks that wile the iPad is probably going to be a winner, you shouldn't expect to use it in the same ways you're using your current computer.
What did the Mac do to deserve this? Lately it seems as if Apple management is giving its Macintosh platform short shrift, instead favoring its younger, sexier mobile devices, also known as the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
The latest affront occurred Monday during Steve Jobs' Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) keynote... he failed to mention that Apple was also launching Safari 5, the latest version of the company's Web browser that comes with every Mac.....
Feel the burn, Mac developers.... Apple is a 'mobile devices company.' Jobs' team has made it perfectly clear in shareholder and analyst meetings.... While that strategy may include the MacBook laptop, the Mac desktop is definitely the odd device out.... Does the Mac have a future?
Is Apple ignoring its signature line of computers and laptops? Yup.
Dear Macintosh,
I hate to tell you this, but my guess is you ve probably been sensing it already. I don't know any good way to say it so let me just be blunt: You ve been dropped. Dumped. It s over.....
The future of Apple is no longer centered around the Macintosh. You Mac guys just got kicked to the curb, relegated to the steaming dung heap of the past.....
Updated Apple's Safari 5 has been out for just one day, but as is usual with integer-level upgrades, users are already reporting niggles, nuisances, and no-goes.
Steve Jobs didn't get around to mentioning Safari 5 in his WWDC keynote last night, but it rolled out anyway shortly after he finished up, and today publishers throughout the world are surely beginning to wonder, 'hang on, what's this Reader thing?'
Safari 5 has a nice little button next to the URL that effectively kills the ads, strips off the site's branding and presents the text in nicely-formatted book-style pages.
Apple Safari's new "make web go away" button is based on an open source project distributed under the Apache 2 license.
The Safari Reader, which debuted yesterday with version 5 of the Apple browser, is built using the source code for Readability, an Apache project from Arc90 Labs....
Apple does include a nod to Readability in its Safari acknowledgments (Help > Acknowledgments), but true to form, it never said a word to Arc90 or anyone else.....
Steve Jobs gave his usual keynote address at WWDC today. The iPhone took center stage, as expected. But there was another announcement that web publishers should take note of and should dread: Safari 5.
The release of Safari 5 does not bode well for web publishers. Specifically, the inclusion of a feature called Safari Reader may ultimately prove financially devastating for many web publishers....
Apple has essentially destroyed the web publishing model completely with the release of Safari 5. This is the equivalent of dropping a nuclear bomb on the entire web economy. It's a weapon of potential mass destruction for web publishers....
We all know that Apple is an arrogant company. They've proven it many times in the past. And I say this as someone that owns an iPad, iPhone, iMac, etc. I'm not an Apple basher. But this really takes the cake......
The just-released Safari 5 promises faster performance, better adherence to HTML 5 standards and a few other goodies. But a nifty feature in Safari Reader also takes dead aim at online publishers, who could see significant revenue losses if Safari ever becomes popular.....a relatively small number of people use Safari compared to other browsers. But if that ever changes and Safari Reader becomes popular, it may spell very bad news for any Web site looking for revenue.
Apple s Safari 5 for Mac and Windows is here. It s familiar, lean, clean, and fast. Oh, and it s ready for extensions. What are extensions? Why should Safari users care?
Software developers can create Apple blessed and approved extensions think of them as add on utilities that perform any number of functions that run in a secure sandbox....
One year from now the extensions for Safari are likely to number in the hundreds.
One of the most important features of Safari 5 is support for extensions: it s what Safari users had been wanting for a very long time, and it s a big deal. It s a big deal for users who want to customize their browser the way they want, it s a huge deal for developers who may start to charge for full-featured extensions in the future. Just think about Twitter clients or RSS apps living inside the browser.
Safari 5 has been available for 12 hours now, and some developers have already released their first extensions. Obviously these extensions are far from being complete and full-featured , but still it s worth taking a look at them, as they re giving us a glimpse at what devs might offer in a few weeks.....
Apple Safari has become the first major browser to be purged of one of the web's longest-running privacy defects: The ability for any site owner to effortlessly steal a complete copy of your recent browsing history.
At last week s All Things Digital conference, sponsored by the Wall Street Journal, both Steve Jobs and Steve Ballmer were front and center, on different days. Unlike that famous joint appearance between Jobs and Bill Gates, the sponsors of this year s event opted for separate sessions. Or maybe Jobs and Ballmer wanted it that way.

HTC Products and Cell Phone Accessories Is the Microsoft Kin 2 Worth Kinsideration?
The Government of Canada recently re-introduced anti-spam legislation, titled the Fighting Internet and Wireless Spam Act (FISA), in the House of Commons. The goal of the proposed legislation blue sky visor bluetooth handsfree car kit 1001b is to deter damaging and deceptive forms of spam and help drive spammers out of the country.
FISA is an important step in the ongoing fight against spam. The May 2010 MessageLabs Intelligence Report indicated that, in Canada, 89.4 per cent of email was spam. The global ratio of spam was 90 per cent.
Analysis revealed that nine out of 10 spam emails now contain a URL link in the message. In May, five percent of all domains found in spam URLs belonged to genuine web sites. Of the most frequently used domain names contained in spam URLS, the top four belong to well-known web sites used for social networking, blogging, file sharing and host other forms of user-generated content.
Domains belonging to well-known web sites tend to be recycled and used continuously compared with “disposable†domains which are used for a short period of time and never seen again. This is perhaps because some work is involved in acquiring them: the legitimate domains blue sky visor bluetooth handsfree car kit 1001b require CAPTCHAs to be solved to create the large numbers of accounts that are then used by spammers.
While Rustock is the botnet that uses the greatest number of disposable domains, Storm, which has recently returned to the spamming scene, is the only botnet that uses genuine domains in greater number than disposable domains.
Sixty-five per cent of spam from the Storm botnet uses a legitimate domain, many of which are for URL shortening services. Disposable domains are often used quickly after being first registered, and on average, 50 per cent are used within nine days, before spammers switch to newer domains.
Â
Also, MessageLabs Intelligence intercepted a malware attack featuring the theme of The FIFA World Cup competition that starts in June. Composed in Portuguese and featuring the blue sky visor bluetooth handsfree car kit 1001b branding of one of the event sponsors, the email was sent from an IP address in Macau, China.
Once downloaded and activated, the malware produces files that generate pop-up messages and in the background collects information on what other machines are on the same network, enabling the attacker further access to the compromised computer.
The May level of email-borne viruses in Canada was one in 230.9, while the global ratio was one in 211.6. Malware may penetrate an organization in many ways, including drive-by attacks from compromised websites, Trojan horses and worms that spread by copying themselves to blue sky visor bluetooth handsfree car kit 1001b removable drives.
The most frequently blocked malware for the last month was the Sality.AE virus, which spreads by infecting executable files and attempts to download potentially malicious files from the Internet.
With spammers and cyber criminals remaining as active as ever, legislation such as FISA can help flush out malicious and illegitimate activities and make sure that Canadian organizations follow better business practices.

Happy Quit Facebook Day.Â
Think of motorola skn6252a miniusb to microusb adaptor the endless invitation to Mafia Wars or pleas to search for a missing cow on Farmville, not the constant updates from friends who just have to tell the world that they “just can’t wait for Friday†or that a “Sausage, eggs and mee goreng and a cup of Nescafe Gold†really perked them up today. All that could come to an end.
Â
Last time I checked the , which officially starts today has only signed up 26,977 committed Facebook quitters out of the social networking site’s 400 million members. So good luck with that.
However, writer Steven Vaughan-Nichols has come up with a list of seven alternative sites that you might what to check out. We have his list here but you can also read the motorola skn6252a miniusb to microusb adaptor
WikiHow also has this step-by-step advice on Facebook-weary on how to kick the habbit – .
Â
Here’s Steve’s list:
While this open-source project is still in beta, it’s an interesting take on social networking. Instead of being under the control of one company and one set of administrators, Appleseed works via a distributed server software package tied together with the ASN (Appleseed Social Network).
That means that as a user, you select and log into an Appleseed site. Once there, you connect with friends, send messages, share photos and videos, join discussions and participate in all the usual social networking stuff. Don’t like the specific Appleseed site you’re on? Then sign up for a different one and, according to motorola skn6252a miniusb to microusb adaptor the site, “immediately reconnect with everyone in your network.”
Diaspora, for all the headlines it’s gotten, is still not much more than an idea.
Technically, Diaspora sounds a lot like Appleseed. It’s also going to be built from open-source software, and it’s going to be a distributed network server application. The first Diaspora code release is slated for September.
Rather than motorola skn6252a miniusb to microusb adaptor being a social network, Elgg is designed for companies and groups to run their own social networks.
You can either run your own Elgg installation — according to the Web site, the developers will be happy to help you — or you can host your site with a provider that specializes in Elgg sites. Starting later this summer, you’ll also be able to host it on Elgg.com itself.
While businesses and social groups may find Elgg interesting, it’s not really a Facebook competitor in and of itself.
Lorea describes itself as “a project to create secure social cybernetic systems, in which human networks will become simultaneously represented on a virtual shared world.” It’s an experimental social network that combines some aspects of social networking, such as communities and real-time updating a la Twitter, with blogging.
Lorea may be less a Facebook competitor than a site for programmers who want to explore the fundamental concepts of how social networks should work.
Unlike Appleseed and Diaspora, the Vodafone Group’s OneSocialWeb is not only hoping to become a social network itself, but also to be the focal point for all the other social networks you may belong to.
For example, if OneSocialWeb works as planned, it will provide the common infrastructure from which you can access all your friends’ information, photos, comments, etc., from Twitter, Facebook and other networks.
Of course, for this to work, the other social networks would have to agree to play by OneSocialWeb’s rules — and I suspect they won’t want to make it easy for users to jump from their own network to another.
Look for a public OneSocialWeb beta later this summer.
Like Elgg, Pligg is an open-source platform for building social networks. The key difference between the two is that Pligg is also a content management system.
Specifically, Pligg is a CMS that enables users to submit and vote on news articles, like Digg. Besides the usual up-or-down voting system, Pligg offers a chance to rate the articles using a five-star scale. While more than good enough for this kind of story-sharing, Pligg really isn’t going to be the basis of a Facebook-type network.
Here’s the good news: Pip.io is already up and running, and it is a real would-be Facebook competitor. Here’s the bad news: It is still very rough.
For instance, when Steve  asked it to find members of Pip.io whom he already knew by using his Gmail contact list, it instead offered to let him invite everyone on his thousand-plus address book to join him on Pip.io.
The interface, which owes more to Twitter than to Facebook, is easy to use. It also enables you to use other social networks such as Facebook and Twitter from Pip.io. In short, Pip.io is trying to be both a social network and a social network client.
It may, eventually, do quite well at all these jobs. But for now, it’s a work in progress.
Dell lowers 1Q profit to build $100M legal reserve
ROUND ROCK, Texas — Dell Inc. said Thursday that it lowered its first-quarter results by $100 million, or 5 cents per share, to set aside a bookmark php $100 million reserve it may need to pay out as part of a settlement related to an ongoing SEC accounting probe into the computer maker’s accounting and financial reporting practices.
The company also said its CEO, Michael Dell, is talking with the Securities and Exchange Commission about a possible settlement.
Dell first disclosed an internal investigation into its accounting in 2006, saying it was notified in August of that year of an SEC inquiry related to its revenue recognition and financial reporting.
In 2007, it said it would restate more than four years of financial results with lower earnings after the probe found that its employees bookmark php had misled auditors and manipulated results to meet performance targets.
Dell said Thursday that a settlement would include negligence-based fraud charges and non-fraud based charges connected to disclosures and alleged omissions that occurred before fiscal 2008 as part of its relationship with chip maker Intel Corp.
Dell said bookmark php in a statement that its CEO and the SEC have begun talking about a “settlement framework” to resolve the allegations against it.
In the statement, Dell said that a settlement would not prevent Dell from working as an officer or director of a public company, and “would be made without admitting or denying the SEC’s allegations.”
In May, the company had reported a profit of $441 million, or 22 cents per share, for the Feburary-through-April quarter. The company says its profit for that period is now $341 million, or 17 cents per share. Its adjusted earnings remain the same at 30 cents per share.
Dell’s shares dropped 30 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $12.77 in after-hours trading following its news release. It ended the regular session up 29 cents at $13.07.
